VILLA RICCA, Ga. – The Falcon's men's golf team finished the final 18 holes of the Matt Dyas Invitational in 5th place . The squad shot team scores of 305 and 299 for the first two rounds and ended the event with a score of 309 bringing their total to (+49) 913.
Anderson University came out on top after carding rounds of 287-284-296, followed by Delta State scoring a team total of (+16) 880 to take second place. Newberry College came in third after carding scores of 299-297-289 to finish with a total score of (+21) 885. West Georgia's (+24) 888 final score landed them a spot in fourth place after the three rounds. The next two teams to finish after the Falcons were Mississippi College (+50, 914) and Emmanuel College (+67, 931)
T12. Senior
Paul Murphy finished with the lowest score for the Falcons. Murphy carded two solid rounds of 74-72 on day one and shot a 78 in round three landing him in a four way tie for 12th between Delta State's Landon Carner, Anderson's Daneil Coker, and Emmanuel College's Markel Olasagasti.
22. Freshman Greg Jones carded a 77 on the last 18 holes brining his total score to (+13) 229.
26. Junior
Noah Dennis of Trussville, Alabama was third on the day for the Falcons. Dennis ended the day with a (+16) 232 landing him in 26th place.
T28. Brady Carman was next on the day for UM after turning in a total score of (+20) 236 to tie for 28th.
31. Senior
Brett Batchelor rounded out the top five for Montevallo with a score of (+23) 239.
