DOUGLASVILLE, GA - The Falcons took home a fourth place finish at the Matt Dyas Invitational on Tuesday to cap off their fall campaign. It was a bitter-sweet conclusion for UM who soared into second day of competition tied for first place with Tusculum and West Georgia, but couldn't hold on. When the smoke cleared, it was Tusculum left at the top, with West Georgia finishing second and Missouri Southern State climbed past UM from fourth place to claim third place.
In the opening round, Tusculum led the way after shooting a team score of 290. West Georgia was second, followed by UM, with Missouri Southern State a distance back in ninth place. The ground shifted in the second round with the Falcons firing a 285 and moving into a ties for the top spot. West Georgia was a shot behind, but still wound up with a score of 577 after two rounds. Missouri Southern State was lurking in fourth place after roaring up the leaderboard five spots.
In the final round, the wheels came off for the Falcons. The team fell off the pace after shooting a 309, while Tusculum tallied a 299, West Georgia 300 and Missouri Southern had a third round best 297.
At the end, Tusculum was at the top of the board with a final score of 876, with West Georgia a stroke back at 877. MSSU entered into the clubhouse at 883, followed by Montevallo with 886.

Gregory Jones and
Valentino Fantozzi each finished with a 6-over-par 222 to lead the Falcons. They were tied for 13th on the leaderboard.
Landon Wockenfuss was a shot behind at 7-over-par 223, tied for 19th, while
Eric Boutwell was 22nd with a score of 224 and
Noah Dennis was finished tied for 26th at 10-over-par 226.
