ATHENS, Ala. - The University of Montevallo men's golf team had a solid week of play at the Bulldog Bash in Athens, Alabama. The team finished in 3rd place in their third event of the spring at Canebrake Club. 

Paul Murphy led the way for the Falcons in the two day, 54 hole event. Murphy carded rounds of 73-69-72 for a three round total of (-2) 214. Murphy's 5th place finished gave him another fantastic week of play and capped off his week making the All-Tournament team.

It was a homecoming event at Canebrake for senior Brett Batchelor at the Bulldog Bash. Batchelor fired rounds of 76-68-72 at his home course just 20 minutes away from his hometown of Madison, Alabama. His three round total of even par, 216, put him in a 9th place finish and his first top ten of the season. 

Brady Carman was third on the week for Montevallo. The South Paulding High School product shot rounds of 76-74-71 in north Alabama.  His three round total of (+5) 221 gave him a top 20 finish with a tie for 19th place. 

Freshman Landon Wockenfus traveled with Montevallo to Athens, Alabama for the event. He fired rounds of 73-75-74 for a two day, three round total of (+6) 222. His final tournament total gave him a finish of tied for 22nd place. 

Gregory Jones rounded out the top five of the Bulldog Bash for the Falcons. The freshman from Mobile, Alabama carded rounds of 71-72-80 to finish off his week at (+7) 223 for a tie for 26th place.

Cooper Markham traveled to the tournament as an individual for the week. The Minnesota native carded rounds of 74-75-74 at Canebrake to give him a total of (+7) 223 and a tie for 26th finish.

UP NEXT: The Falcons will head to Pensacola, Florida to take on the Argonaut Invitational hosted by UWF, with events set to begin Monday, April 5th.
