MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – It was a successful day in the pool for the University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams on Saturday in a tri-meet with a Berry College and Emmanuel College in Mount Berry, Ga.
Both teams earned podium finishes in 10 events.
Amanda Ware earned a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.25 and was the only Falcon, on either team, to win an event. Her time was just three-tenths shy of a program-record.
The most successful event for the women's team was the 50-yard freestyle which featured five Falcons in the top seven.
Lexi Cardwell led the charge with a third-place finish with her time of 25.92.
The men's team recorded two-podium finishes in the 100-yard freestyle as
Jacob Rubin led the charge in second place with a 46.66 time.
Cameron Smith finished in third with a time of 47.85. Rubin led the Falcons with four podium finishes on the day. The sophomore finished second in the 200-yard freestyle, third in the 50-yard freestyle, second in the 100-yard freestyle and second in the 400-yard freestyle team relay.
