CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of Montevallo men's swimming team wrapped up the Delta State Christmas Invitational with three more record-breaking performances and finished third overall with 1,425.5 points in the four-day event, Tuesday.
 
Senior Jacob Rubin and Aleksei Kolesnikov each experienced success throughout the invitational. Rubin set four school-records as part of relay teams while setting the school record in the 50-yard free. Kolesnikov set three team-relay records and set the individual records in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly.
 
Overall, the Falcons set eight new records in the pool in Cleveland, Miss., posted 31 top-10 times and totaled two podium finishes.  
 
"Incredible meet, breaking eight school records and we are only halfway through the season," said Head Coach Aaron Mahaney. "Looking forward to a great second half after we spend some time with family and friends for the holidays. It's a great day to be a Falcon!"
 
 
Day 1     Results

• On day one the men broke one school record and posted one podium finish.
• A school-record was set in the 800-yard freestyle relay as the team of Rubin, Cameron Smith, Parker Bell and Naccarato placed fifth with a time of 6:59.00.

• On day two, the men broke two school records and posted four top-10 finishes.
• Rubin broke his own school-record with a 20.59 time in the 50-yard free for an eighth-place finish. His time is also an NCAA D-II B-Cut mark.
• In the final event of day two, the Montevallo relay team of Rubin, Mahone, Naccarato, and Kolesnikov set a school-record with a time of 1:23.64 in the 200-yard freestyle relay for a fifth-place finish.

• On day three, the men broke two more school records and posted nine top-10 finishes.
• Kolesnikov set a new school-record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 48.41 in an 11^th-place finish.
• In the final event of day three, the Montevallo relay team of Mahone, Daigle, Kolesnikov and Rubin set a school-record with a time of 3:22.67 in the 400-yard medley relay for a sixth-place finish.

Day 4 Results

• On the final day the records continued to be broken as two more school-best times were made.
• The Falcons posted 12-top ten finishes and one podium finish on day four.
• Mahone set a school record and an NCAA D-II B-Cut mark in the 200-yard back with his time of 1:50.39 for a third-place finish.
• Kolesnikov broke another school record, this time in the 200-yard butterfly with his time of 1:52.54 for fifth-place.
• In the final event of the week, the team of Naccarato, Mahone, Kolesnikov, and Rubin set a school-record with a time of 3:06.66 for a fourth place finish.
