MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- University of Montevallo women's basketball coach
Gary Van Atta is proud to announce the signing of Katie Moore, a 6'0" power forward form Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Tenn.
Moore averaged 11 points, six rebounds, one assist, and a steal per game, while shooting 56% from the field her senior season.  She led the Cleveland High Lady Raiders to a 23-8 record and a berth in the region tournament, while being selected to the All District 5 AAAA team. She was named the MVP of the 2022 Tennessee/Georgia All Star Game after posting 19 points and seven rebounds in a Team Tennessee victory.
Moore was also voted by her teammates as the recipient of the Karen Hall Lady Raider Award.  The award recognizes her as a person that stands for character, integrity, discipline, respect and responsibility. It is the highest honor bestowed by her teammates. At the Cleveland High School Awards Day, Moore was named CHS Female Athlete of the year, the most prestigious award at CHS for her contributions in basketball and track. Â
What Coach Van Atta say's about Moore:
"Katie's strong, athletic and smart. She can physically control things in the paint. She can finish with either hand and is an excellent rebounder. I think her best years are ahead of her. She will continue to develop and become a major factor in the continued growth of our program. She's a high quality person and represents everything we stand for at UM women's basketball. I look forward to coaching Katie the next four years."
