MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's basketball slipped to No. 9 in the latest Div. II College Sport Communicators Regional Poll after posting a 2-1 record in conference play over the last week.

The Falcons opened the week with a 70-56 victory over West Alabama on the road on Monday, Nov. 27 before moving to 3-0 in league play with a 66-57 win at home over Shorter on Dec. 1. The Falcons lone loss of the week came on Sunday afternoon when the Falcons fell to regional No. 5 Lee in a tightly contested 80-76 game. Montevallo's 3-1 Gulf South record sets the Falcons at fifth in the conference behind Union (No. 1), Lee (No. 5), Valdosta State (No. 4) and West Florida (No. 6).
 
Montevallo is one of just five GSC programs named in the top ten teams in the region with Auburn Montgomery receiving votes.
 
The regional poll is released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives (two per conference) that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voters - 2 from each region.
