BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference has named
Marisa Snodgrass as a member of the 2023 All-GSC Second Team after leading the Falcons to a 12-16 overall record and a No. 5 seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
The senior guard leads the conference with a team-best 3.1 steals per game. Snodgrass ranks fifth among GSC leaders with a 79.8 percent free throw shooting mark and a 3.7 assists per game average. The Hazel Green, Ala. native averages a team-high 12.3 points per game while shooting 40.3 percent from the floor and 35.4 percent from deep. Snodgrass has started all 28 games for the Falcons with a Falcon-best 3.7 assists per game.
Her top performance of the season came on Feb. 16 when the senior scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-7 from long range to go along with three steals and two boards.
This is Snodgrass's second All-Conference selection after her GSC East Division First Team nod in the 2020-21 season. Her selection is the 18
th All-Conference selection in the history of Montevallo women's basketball (16 GSC, 2 PBC). Snodgrass is just the fourth player in Div. II program-history to win multiple All-Conference awards and the first since 2014 (Taylor Beverly, 2012-13 and 2013-14).
Snodgrass and the rest of the Falcons will take on fourth-seeded Valdosta State on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in Valdosta, Ga.
