BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Montevallo women's golf sophomore
Madison Rincon has been named the Gulf Southern Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office, Thursday, for the first time this season.
Rincon helped the Falcons to a first-place finish at the Union Spring Bulldog Bash as she finished first individually at seven-under par in the three-round event.
The Palm Desert, California native shot a 74 in round one but went low in rounds two and three shooting 67 and 68, respectively. She finished as the only player under par in the tournament and was the only player to card a round in the 60s.
This is Rincon's first weekly honor and the fifth for the Falcons this year with
Denise Paulsson winning Freshman of the Week four times previously.
