COLUMBUS, Ga. – Montevallo women's golf finished fifth at the Lady Cougar Classic hosted by Columbus State with a three-round score of 72-over.
Montevallo opened the tournament with a team score of 31-over after the first 18 holes before shooting its lowest round of the tournament with a 15-over 303 in the second for the third-best mark by any team in round two. The Falcons closed the week with a final round 314 (+26) to finish fifth in the final regular season tournament of the season.
Freshman
Polly McCrackin took the top finish for the Falcons with a T-7
th placement after shooting 13-over (229) for the week. McCrackin tallied four birdies in round one for her lowest round of the tournament with a one-over 73 before posted a 74 (+2) in round two. The freshman finished the event with a 10-over 82 in the final round to secure the Falcons' top finish.
Angelina Oliveri and Francesca De Roover each posted a score of 20-over (236) to finish T-20
th for the tournament. Oliveri opened with a first-round 83 (+11) before shooting her lowest round of the tournament with a four-over 76 in round two. The sophomore ended the event with a final-round score of 77 (+5) with a pair of birdies and an eagle. De Roover shot 83 (+11) in the first 18 holes before carding a trio of birdies in round two for a 73 (+1). The senior closed the tournament with an eight-over 80 in round three.
Ainoa Ruiz posted a score of 21-over to take home a T-23
rd finish with scores of 80 (+8), 80 (+8), and 77 (+5).
Juliette Daviau rounded out Montevallo's team scores with a T-40
th finish and a score of 28-over.
