MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team ends their regular season with match ups against in-state rivals Auburn Montgomery on Thursday, Nov. 14 and Alabama-Huntsville on Friday, Nov. 15.

In the Falcons most recent match, they were defeated by Union in four sets.
Claire Hayes led Montevallo with 12 kills on a .364 hitting percentage while she added four blocks and an ace.
Colton Thompson posted a double-double with 16 assists and 11 digs.

About Montevallo
The Falcons are in the middle of a three-way tie for the final two spots in the GSC standings with Auburn Montgomery and Union. The three teams are dead-locked with 7-11 conference record with two matches remaining. Montevallo comes in with the fifth most assists at 1157, the fifth most kills with 1240 and the fourth most blocks at 200.5.
Ava Wind leads the Falcons with 433 digs and 36 service aces. Wind is third in the GSC in digs and fifth with 3.97 digs per set.
Danielle Greene is fourth in the Gulf South with 108 total blocks on the season. Greene recorded a 100/100 season with seven total blocks against Christian Brothers on Nov. 8. She now has 10 matches this season with five or more blocks.
Earlier this season, the Falcons fell to Auburn Montgomery in a five setter in Montgomery, Alabama. In the match,
Nikol Antova had a double-double with 21 kills and 10 digs.
Colton Thompson also had a double-double with 29 assists and 15 digs. Against Alabama-Huntsville this season, UM lost to the Chargers in three sets.
Scouting Auburn Montgomery
The Warhawks are playing their best volleyball of the season as they are winners of their last five out of seven matches. In their previous weekend, they defeated Trevecca Nazarene and Lee in five sets. In 10 matches as the away team, AUM is 3-7 this season.
Senior Maya Thompson leads the Warhawks and is sixth in the GSC with a .297 hitting percentage. Thompson is third with 326 kills and sixth with 81 total blocks. On Oct. 17 against Montevallo, she had 20 kills on a .429 hitting percentage and had four total blocks. Greta Corrente is second in the conference with 45 aces while she is one kill shy of 200 for the season. As a team, the Warhawks have the fourth most aces in the GSC with 188.
Montevallo is 6-5 all-time against AUM, but has lost their last two matches against the Warhawks. In Central State Bank Arena against the Warhawks, UM is 4-1 in their short history.
Scouting Alabama-Huntsville
The Chargers are 14-4 in conference play and are currently in the second place in the Gulf South. Like the Warhawks, UAH has won five out of their last seven matches. In their most recent match ups, Alabama-Huntsville defeated Union and Christian brothers in four sets. On the road this season, the Chargers are 13-3.
With 16 kills against Christian Brothers, Autumn Mayes now has over 300 kills this season. Against UM on Oct. 15, she had nine kills and six digs. Savannah Rutledge is seventh in the Gulf South with 569 assists and adds a team-leading 32 aces. As a team, Alabama-Huntsville has the third highest hitting percentage at .217, the third most assists at 1189 and the third most kills at 1299.
Montevallo is 23-28 against the Chargers all-time, but has been swept three consecutive matches by UAH. The Falcons are 11-11 when hosting the Chargers.
