LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the first time in program-history, Montevallo men's lacrosse makes its debut in the national rankings with the Falcons entering the polls as the No. 20 team in the country.
 
The Falcons earned the national recognition after taking down No. 7 Florida Southern, a team who knocked off No. 4 Wingate the week prior. With the 19-18 overtime victory, Montevallo moves to 1-1 on the season after falling to No. 13 UIndy in the season opener. The Falcons garnered recognition as the No. 20 team in the USILA Coaches Poll, Inside Lacrosse Poll and the USA Lacrosse Magazine Top 20. Montevallo joins No. 19 Lander as the only Peach Belt Conference teams to receive a ranking so far this season. 
 
With two ranked meetings already past this season, the Falcons are set to meet with five more opponents mentioned in the USILA release with matchups against No. 18 Maryville and No. 19 Lander. Montevallo is also scheduled to take on Saint Leo, Flagler and North Greenville, three teams that received votes in the USILA Poll.
 
The Falcons first-ever USILA ranking comes a season after the Falcons received votes in the 2023 USILA Preseason Poll.
