BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Montevallo women's golf's Paulina Bermejo has been named the Gulf South Conference Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office, Thursday.
 
A native of Aguascalientes, Mexico, Bermejo finished tied sixth at seven-over to lead UM to a third-place finish in a field of 18 teams in the Battle at Hilton Head tournament.
 
Bermejo shot 75 and 76 during the two-round event at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Hilton Head's Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head, South Carolina, to finish tied-sixth in a field of 96 competitors.
 
This is the juniors' first Golfer of the Week award this season.
 
Bermejo and the Falcons will return to action on Mar. 11 in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, hosted by Rollins at Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
