In the Falcons season opener, sophomore
Matthew Boas led the squad with two goals on four shots for a total of two points while
Jacob Obee added a goal and an assist for a pair of points. Both of the Falcons' faceoff specialists had solid opening performances with
Cole Tenger going 8-of-11 while
Gerry York posted a 7-for-11 mark on opening day. In his first outing in the net, sophomore
Alex Egorshin recorded 19 saves on 53 shots faced for a .594 save percentage.

In the first game of the season, Florida Southern knocked off No. 3 Wingate, 8-7, on the road in a game that saw the Mocs come back from down 5-0 in the first quarter.
FSC was led by a pair of goals from Matt Flammenspeck and Brendan Glasser with Flammenspeck leading the team with three points in the outing. With 60 minutes in goal, Michael Simone recorded 15 saves on 34 shots for a .682 save percentage his first outing in the net.
Series History Against Florida Southern
The Falcons have struggled in the short history between these two teams with Florida Southern owning a 3-0 record over Montevallo. In the first meeting back in 2019, the Mocs took a 20-12 win over the Falcons before earning a 16-9 win in the following season. The two sides met a season ago with Florida Southern walking away with a 23-4 win over the Falcons.
