VALDOSTA, Ga. -  36 holes have been played at the Gulf South Conference Men's Golf Championship tournament and the Falcons sit in fourth place at 19 over with three individuals in the top 10.
 
After shooting a 293 in the opening round, the Falcons turned in a 14-over 302 to fall from third to fourth. Union turned in a four-over round to move up two spots and pass the Falcons.
 
Harrison Hughston continues to lead Montevallo in the overall standings and concludes the second round in solo second. Hughston moved into the solo lead at four-under with four holes left to play, following back-to-back birdies, but three bogeys dropped the graduate student to second. Hughston moved two spots up the leaderboard after round two, despite carding a one-over 73.
 
 
Eric Boutwell led Montevallo in the second round as he carded UM's lone under-par round with a one-under 71. Boutwell, who shot 75 in round one, climbed 14 spots up the leaderboard to tie for sixth at two-over through 36 holes.
 
 
With just one round remaining the Falcons feature three individuals in the the top-10.
 
Cooper Markham, who shot one-under Monday, dropped five shots in round two but remains in the top-10, alongside Boutwell and Hughston, in a tie for 10^th at four-over. Markham shot 77 in round two.
 
 
Montevallo will tee off in the second wave for round three, beginning at 9:20 a.m. eastern time.

RESULTS

Individual Highlights 

• Harrison Hughston, who shot 73 on Tuesday, is in solo second after round two at one-under for the tournament.
• Hughston had a team-high sive birdies in round two, but also carded six bogeys.
• Boutwell moved up 14 spots on the leaderboard with a 71 in round two and is now tied-sixth at two-over.
• Boutwell carded an eagle on the front nine while adding three birdies in his round.
• Cooper Markham rounds out a trio of Falcons in the top-10 after two rounds.
• Through two rounds, Boutwell leads the field in par-four scoring with a 3.95 stroke average. He played the par fours at two-under on Tuesday.
   

Team Highlights 

• Montevallo dropped one spot with a 14-over score as a team, Tuesday.  
• Montevallo has the third most birdies as a team through two rounds with 24.
