HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- USC Aiken jumped out to a 7-2 lead highlighted by four kills.
- After a kill by Nikol Antova from Colton Thompson, the Falcons stormed back to shorten the gap to one.
- Down 11-8, UM went on a 4-0 run with a kill by Claire Hayes and an ace by Colton Thompson. The Pacers had two errors in the run.
- USCA regained the lead with two kills and a Falcon attack error.
- The Falcons went on a 9-2 run with six kills and three Pacer errors.
- Maggie McColley put the Pacers away to end the set with her fifth kill of the set.
Set 2
- Montevallo started the set with a 5-2 lead with kills from Claire Hayes and Nikol Antova. Colton Thompson picked up three assists in the run.
- Tied at 9-9, USC Aiken took the next five consecutive points to force a UM timeout.
- The Falcons retaliated with a 5-1 run of their own by forcing four Pacer errors.
- With the Pacers and Falcons tied at 16-16, USCA rattled off kills in their next seven points.
- USC Aiken won the set with two consecutive aces.
Set 3
- The Pacers gained the early advantage with a 5-1 run.
- The Falcons tied it up at 5-5 with a kill by Antova, an ace from Ava Wind and blocks by Danielle Greene and Brooklyn Hudson.
- After a kill from Eliza Tyrrell to make it 12-11, USC Aiken won the next seven consecutive points.
- The Pacers ended the set by converting on their final five kill attempts.
Set 4
- Montevallo started off hot with kills by Antova, Tyrrell and Thompson. Ava Wind picked up two assists.
- USCA took a 7-4 lead with two kills and a Falcon error.
- The Pacers took a 3-0 run to force another UM timeout.
- Two kills by Claire Hayes tie up the set at 12-12.
- USC Aiken went on a massive 9-2 run to take the lead and create separation.
- The pacers finished off the Falcons by forcing two UM errors and by converting on two kills.
