MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team hosts the Mississippi College Choctaws for their annual Pack the Sac night on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Central State Bank Arena. The Pack the Sac event will include T-Mobile for a check presentation to the University of Montevallo's Grainger Community Counseling and Wellness Clinic– T-Mobile's Hometown Grant recipient.
To celebrate, there will be a pre-game block party open to all, beginning at 4 p.m. in front of the McChesney Student Activity Center. The event will feature several food trucks, music, games and complimentary beverages and dessert. Fans are encouraged to attend the pre-game festivities and continue the celebration at the volleyball game beginning at 6 p.m. The Hometown Grant will officially be awarded during the games' set break. T-Mobile will be on-site with plenty of giveaway items for fans in attendance.
Last Time Out
Montevallo is coming off a weekend where they defeated Lee in five sets but dropped a match to Trevecca Nazarene, 1-3. The Falcons are currently tied for third in the GSC with an overall record of 5-8 and a GSC record of 2-1. At home, Montevallo has the third best record in the Gulf South at 3-1.

About Montevallo
Nikol Antova carried over her hot start from the non-conference schedule into the conference slate as she notched two double-doubles last week with a 16 kill, 16 dig match against Trevecca Nazarene and a 25 kill, 10 dig match in the win against Lee. In the GSC, she is second with 170 kills (3.40 per set) and second with 189.5 points (3.79 per set). Antova is ranked 40
th nationally in kills.
Claire Hayes is coming off a weekend where she hit .300 with 18 kills and 10 total blocks. Hayes is currently second on the team with 90 kills and she is second with 32 total blocks.
Colton Thompson has done it all for the Falcons as she leads the team and is eighth in the GSC with 230 assists. The senior from Fairhope, Alabama leads UM with 17 service aces.
Danielle Greene is fifth in the Gulf South with 41 blocks.
The Falcons are 11-4 against Mississippi College dating back to their first meeting in 1973. In their last eight matchups, Montevallo is 7-1. Last season, the Falcons defeated the Choctaws in four sets in their lone matchup of the year.
Scouting Mississippi College
The Choctaws come into Tuesday's match in a three-way tie for third place in the GSC with Montevallo and Trevecca Nazarene. MC is 2-1 in GSC play as they defeated West Alabama and Auburn Montgomery. Their lone GSC loss was against Alabama-Huntsville.
Tuesday's matchup will feature two of the best hitters the Gulf South has to offer, Montevallo's
Nikol Antova and Mississippi College's Lydia Paulette. Paulette is third in the conference with 145 kills (4.03 per set) and in points with 168. The senior from Tuscaloosa, Alabama leads MC with 14 service aces and she has recorded 10 or more kills in every match this season. Ali Wiggins leads the Choctaws with 181 assists and adds 12 service aces. Defensively, Rhaia Davey has the most blocks on the team with 31.
