BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second straight week, Montevallo's
Ava Wind has been named the Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Wind anchored the Falcons' back row during another strong week, recording 52 total digs to help Montevallo post a perfect 3-0 record. In Saturday's five-set win over Christian Brothers, the Leander, Texas native turned in a match-high 27 digs while adding two service aces and a pair of assists.
Through the 2025 campaign, Wind has been a defensive force, leading the Falcons with 330 digs, a mark that ranks second in the GSC.

Wind and the Falcons will look to extend their four-match winning streak tonight when they travel to Spring Hill for their final non-conference contest. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
