MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer heads into the postseason with a quarterfinal matchup against sixth-seeded Spring Hill on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m.

Montevallo enters the 2025 Gulf South Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed after posting an 8-2-2 mark in conference play while posting a 10-5-2 overall record. The Falcons opened the season with a 1-2 mark in nonconference play before opening the GSC season five-consecutive shutout victories. The Falcons then scored the most goals in a single game in a 7-2 win over Union on Oct. 4. Montevallo hit a bit of a mid-season slump with a 1-2-2 record over the next five games before closing the conference schedule with a 3-1 win over Spring Hill. The Falcons faced off in two nonconference games to close the season with a loss to Columbus State on Oct. 29 before picking up a 2-0 win over Clayton State in the final regular season outing.
Montevallo ranks fourth in the GSC with a total of 29 goals on the season while adding a second-best 22 assists for a total of 80 points. The Falcons also average 15.65 shots per game with 7.12 shots on goal per game while allowing just 9.1 shots per game and an average of 4.3 shots on goal per game. Montevallo defense has allowed an average of 1.12 goals per game through its 17 games this season.
The Falcons' attack is led by
Lainey Farabaugh and her team-high nine goals while Morgan Goering leads the team with a total of seven assists while adding five goals for a total of 17 points on the season. GSC Freshman of the Year
Ayla Ertekin ranks third on the squad with four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points in 2025. In the net,
Jolie Cazale and
Ciara Duff have combined for a total of nine shutouts while Duff has posted 28 saves and Cazale recorded 21.
Spring Hill heads into Saturday's contest as the No. 6 seed in the GSC Tournament after posting a 5-3-4 conference record with a 7-3-7 mark overall. The Badgers posted a 1-0-3 mark in nonconference play to start the season before going 0-1-2 to open conference play. SHC picked up its first conference win against Valdosta State on Oct. 10 to open a four-game win streak that ended with a 3-1 loss to Montevallo. SHC closed the regular season with a 1-1 draw at West Alabama and a 1-0 win over Alabama Huntsville on Nov. 2.
Spring Hill ranks seventh in the league with a total of 21 goals on the season while adding 12 assists for a total of 54 points on the season. The Badgers average a total of 9.88 shots per game with an average of 5.18 shots on goal per game. SHC's defense allows just 0.59 goals per game on an average of 11.9 shots per game with 4.76 shots on goal per game.
Sofia Jimenez Garcia leads Spring Hill's attack with nine points on four goals and an assist while Ellie King added eight points on three goals and two assists. Ashley Drennon leads Spring Hill with a total of four assists while adding a goal for six points on the season. Carlotta Stark has played every minute in goal this season and has tallied 11 shutouts with a total of 70 saves on the season.
