BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference has released its 2026 Women's Soccer Preseason Awards with Montevallo voted second in the league with five Falcons named Preseason All-GSC.

The Falcons, led by first-year head coach Trey Gregory, were voted No. 2 in the conference trailing just Lee at the top of the standings. Montevallo finished with 112 points in the voting alongside a pair of first-place votes.
Montevallo led all programs in the conference with five selections in
Lainey Farabaugh,
Ayla Ertekin,
Isabel Dillehay,
Shelby Irwin and
Madysen Legere.
Farabaugh, the lone 2025 First Team All-GSC member of the preseason squad, finished last season with 24 points on 12 goals in her 1,563 minutes of action across 22 starts. Ertekin, the 2025 GSC Freshman of the Year, tallied 15 points in her debut season with six goals and three assists while playing 1,373 minutes in 22 appearances. Dillehay posted a total of 12 points during her junior season in 2025 with three goals and six assists while starting all 22 games for the Falcons with 1,555 minutes of action. Irwin earned her Preseason All-GSC selection after a season that saw her lead a defense to 10 clean sheets in her 21 appearances with 1,788 minutes in the back line. Legere, a 2025 Second Team All-GSC member, was named Preseason All-GSC after playing 1,618 minutes across 19 starts in a backline that allowed just 1.09 goals per game.
A trio of fresh faces on the 2026 Montevallo roster were named to the GSC Newcomer Watchlist. A pair of transfers in sophomore Karsyn Moss and graduate
Emma Arkus along with freshman
Mia Matherne were all named to the GSC Newcomer Watchlist.
