Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Montevallo Men's Tennis secured a 5-2 win over Christian Brothers in a competitive matchup at home.
The Falcons took control early by winning two out of three doubles matches. Simon Luigs and Paul Sobich dominated their No. 2 doubles match with a 6-1 victory, while Ryota Nakajima and Guilherme Gracioli clinched the No. 3 spot with a 6-4 win. Christian Brothers' duo of Juan Ycaza and Ignacio Mora claimed the No. 1 doubles match 3-6.
In singles play, Montevallo carried its momentum, winning four of six matches. Sobich set the tone at No. 1 singles with a commanding 6-3, 6-3 win, while Gracioli followed with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Luiz Brandao battled through three sets to secure a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 4, and Nakajima cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5. Christian Brothers picked up wins at No. 3 and No. 6 singles, with Benjamin Hanroit edging out Leonidas Lazarides 4-6, 6-7, and Alexandre Randoux defeating Luigs 4-6, 4-6.
With this victory, Montevallo continues its season and looks ahead to the next challenge on the court.
