GREENWOOD, S.C. – After the first two rounds of the Lady Bearcat Invitational, Montevallo women's golf sits in a tie for eighth place with a combined scored of 32-over after the first 36 holes.
Montevallo's opening round saw the Falcons just five shots out of the top five in sole possession of eighth with a combined 19-over in round one. The Falcons improved on the first 18 holes with a round-two 304 (+16) but couldn't make any moves up the leaderboard.
Freshman
Kate Cost opened the tournament with a strong 74 (+2) in round one to finish T-8
th after the opening round with a trio of birdies on the back nine. Cost struggled a bit in round two with a six-over 78 to finish day one T-25
TH.
Meredith Bennett shot the Falcons' second-lowest opening round with a pair of birdies in a round-one 75 (+3) before shooting a five-over 77 in round to finish the day eight-over in a tie for 25
th.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Paulina Bermejo rebounded from a round-one 81 (+9) with four birdies in round two en route to a 74 (+2) and a T-38th placement on the leaderboard.
- Caterina Oliveri improved on her opening round 80 (+8) to finish T-44th after day one with a four-over 76 in round two.
- Freshman Angelina Oliveri was steady throughout the day with a combined 11-over (T-38th) with a 78 (+6) and a 77 (+5) in the first two rounds.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Montevallo sits in a tie with Erskine after day one with the Falcons just one stroke out of seventh behind Emmanuel.
- Wingate leads the tournament at three-over with the only under-par round of the day while host Lander sits in second at 13-over and Limestone in third at 17-over.
