GREENWOOD, S.C. – In the final event before the Gulf South Conference Championship, Montevallo women's golf finished eighth at the Lady Bearcat Invitational hosted by Lander.
 
The Falcons overtook Emmanuel on the final day of competition with a 25-over round-three that saw Montevallo take sole possession of eighth by a single stroke. Montevallo eighth-place finish in South Carolina marks the fifth top 10 finish for the Falcons so far this season.
 
Meredith Bennett highlighted Montevallo's individual performances on day two with a four-over 76 in round three to finish T-25^th for the tournament. Freshman Kate Cost fired the lone under-par side of the week for Montevallo with a one-under 35 on the back nine of round three to finish five-over for the day and T-27^th for the tournament. Paulina Bermejo made the highest climb up the leaderboard in round three with a six-over 78 to move up three places into T-41^st for the event.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS

• Angelina Oliveri posted a T-44^th finish at 22-over for the week after posting a 10-over 82 in the final round.
• Caterina Oliveri finished the tournament in T-48^th after shooting 83 (+11) in round three and +23 for the week.

 
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Montevallo was one of seven ranked teams at the tournament and joined West Florida as the lone GSC members.
• Wingate took the win with a score of 13-over while Lander finished second at +20 and Lincoln Memorial finished third with a score of 30-over.
