Falcons Travel to South Carolina For Away Meet Against Presbyterian

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo acrobatics and tumbling team is geared up for their last away meet of the season as they take on Presbyterian on Thursday, Mar. 27. The meet will take place inside the Templeton Center on the campus of Presbyterian College.

About Montevallo
For the first time in program history, the Falcons will take on a Division I opponent. Presbyterian comes into Thursday's meet with a 5-2 record and is coming off a loss to No. 13 Saint Leo 254.105-259.625. The Blue Hose average 240.755 a meet while the Falcons average 239.555.
 
The Acrobatics & Tumbling team scored season-highs in the compulsory and toss events last meet. In the compulsory, the Falcons notched a score of 35.35. UM received scores of 8.85, 9.70, 9.40 and 7.40. They scored 25.45 in the toss event with marks consisting of an 8.65 in the 450 salto, an 8.25 in the synchronized heat and an 8.55 in the open toss. Heat's two and three would be the Falcons best marks of 2025.
 
Avery Grant continues to kill in the aerial heat of the tumbling event. Grant scored a 9.7 last time out against Wingate which is a season-high for UM. She has competed for the Falcons in the aerial in every meet and averages a 9.39 in the heat.
 
Scouting Presbyterian
In their previous meet against No. 13 Saint Leo, the Blue Hose set season-high scores in the acro event 6-element heat and in the tumbling event trio pass. In the same meet, the team set or tied program all-time high scores in all three pyramid heats including their first perfect 10.00 score in the open heat. They set a program record with a total score of 29.60 in the pyramid event.
 
They set a season best score of 244.005 against Mars Hill on Feb. 25. They set a season-high score of 36.20 in the compulsory event.
