BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a solid week at the plate, Montevallo's
Bentlee Stiner was named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
The Chattanooga, Tenn. native had a solid week recording 11 hits, ten RBIs, five home runs, and scoring 12 runs, as Montevallo swept a doubleheader at Miles and captured a series victory at Lee. On the week, Stiner posted a .611 batting average, 1.722 slugging percentage, and a .682 on-base percentage.
The junior opened the week with a strong outing in the midweek doubleheader at Miles, as she hit three home runs in game two against the Lady Bears which tied the program record for home runs hit in a single game.
Stiner went 6-for-10 in Montevallo's three-game game series against Lee, which included a pair of leadoff home runs in games one and two of the series.
Stiner recorded at least one hit and one RBI in every game she played in this week.
Stiner and the Falcons are back in action this weekend, as Montevallo hosts Delta State (Apr. 4-5) at Softball Stadium at Orr Park.
