TUNICA, Miss. – Montevallo women's golf took home a second-place finish at the 2025 Gulf South Conference Championship after an impressive third-round performance.
The Falcons climbed two slots up the leaderboard on the final day of competition after shooting 14-over in the final round to jump No. 11 Lee and Union. UM's second-place finish ties the highest finish for Montevallo at the GSC Championship and marks the third such finish in UM's history. Fabiola DeCespedes earned her first-career All-Tournament selection after finishing second on the individual leaderboard with a total score of nine-over (225). DeCespedes fired a one-over 73 in the final round that featured a three-under 33 on the front nine. Her second-place mark ties the highest finish by a UM individual at the GSC Championship. Senior
Meredith Bennett took home a T-10
th finish with a total score of 21-over (237) after climbing eight spots up the leaderboard with a round-three 75 (+3) that saw a trio of birdies.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Paulina Bermejo was named GSC Championship Scholar Athlete and finished T-22nd with a score of 245 (+29) after shooting 77 (+5) in round three with one of three Montevallo eagles.
- Freshman Kate Cost finished T-16th for the week after shooting 240 (+24) with a round-three 77 (+5) that saw two birdies and an eagle.
- Angelina Oliveri rounds out Montevallo's tournament with a T-25th finish after shooting 31-over for the week with an 86 (+14) in round three.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- No. 24 West Florida took home the conference title with a three-round score of 59-over while No. 11 Lee finished third at +73.
- Montevallo's 14-over final round tied GSC Champion West Florida for the low round of the day.
