Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The University of Montevallo men's tennis team saw its 2025 season come to a close on Thursday after falling 0-4 to Lee University in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
Lee took early control in doubles play, earning wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to clinch the doubles point. Montevallo's top pair of Dylan Kamel and Luiz Gobbi Brandao were trailing 4-2 when their match was left unfinished.
In singles, the Falcons fought hard but couldn't turn the tide. Paul Sobich and Guilherme Gracioli both led early in their matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, before play was halted due to Lee securing the overall victory. The Flames claimed straight-set wins at the No. 3, 5, and 6 spots, while Leo Lazarides trailed in a competitive match at No. 4 before it was left incomplete.
With the loss, Montevallo concludes its 2025 campaign. Despite the early exit, the Falcons showed grit and development throughout the season and will look to build on that foundation heading into next year.
