MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The College Sports Communicators have named men's lacrosse duo
Alex Egorshin and
Brandon Shaffner have been named CSC At-Large Academic All-Americans following the 2025 season.

Egorshin, the Peach Belt Conference's Defensive Player of the Year, tallied his second consecutive First Team Academic All-America honor with a 4.00 cumulative GPA as a Chemistry major in his junior year. On the field, the Hoover, Ala. native played a total of 856:41 minutes in goal while leading the PBC with a 10.97 goals against average with a .601 save percentage on an average of 14.75 goals per game. Egorshin joins a total of 17 other student-athletes as repeat selections to the Academic All-America team after earning the award following the 2024 season.
Shaffner, one of the top faceoff specialists in all of Div. II, earned his Second Team Academic All-America honor with a 4.00 cumulative GPA in his Exercise and Nutrition Science courses. The senior finished the season with the third-highest faceoff win percentage in the nation with a mark of .697 while posting a 230-for-330 mark at the dot. The Louisville, Ky. native set a Montevallo record with 139 ground balls on the season while setting a career best with 28 wins against Emmanuel on Feb. 1.
