BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Montevallo women's golf duo of Francesca De Roover and
Polly McCrackin have been named Gulf South Conference Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively, after strong showings in the first tournament of the season.

De Roover, a senior out of Brussels, Belgium, took home the individual title at the Montevallo Invitational with a combined score of 10-over (223) after firing rounds of 76 (+5), 76 (+5), and 71 (E). De Roover ended the tournament in a tie with Union's top golfer for the week and won the title in a one-hole playoff with a par on the 18
th. The senior's week totaled five bridies en route to her first career individual title.
McCrackin finished T-5
th at the Montevallo Invitational with a total score of 18-over (231) after shooting 75 (+5), 74 (+3) and 82 (+11) in each of the three rounds. In her collegiate debut, the freshman tallied a trio of birdies on the week to take Montevallo's third-highest finish at the Falcons' home tournament.
De Roover and McCrackin head back out on the course on Oct. 13-14 for the LeeAnn Noble Memorial hosted by North Georgia.
