WEST POINT, Miss. – Montevallo men's golf took home a seventh-place finish at the Dunning Invitational with a total score of 31-over after three rounds.
The Falcons open the tournament with a round one score of six-over (294) with a total of 12 birdies in the opening 18 holes to finish the first round in T-6
th. Montevallo slipped to seventh after carding a 15-over 303 with 14 birdies in round two. The Falcons closed the tournament with a 298 (+10) with nine birdies to close the tournament in sole possession of seventh.
Bentley Van Pelt led Montevallo for the week with a T-10
th finish with an even par score of 216 for the three-round event. The sophomore recorded a total of 12 birdies for the week with a two-under 70 in round one, a one-under 71 in round two before finishing with a 75 (+3) in round three.
Seth Rogers and
Russell Boren III each finished T-30
th for the second-highest Falcon finish with a score of 11-over 227 over the week. Rogers' tournament open with a round one 76 (+4) before carding a six-over 78 in round two and finishing the event with a round three 73 (+1). Boren III opened the week with a round one 74 (+2) before shooting 78 (+6) in round two and finishing with a round three 75 (+3).
Miles Miller finished fourth on the team and T-38
th for the tournament with a total score of 230 (+14). The sophomore shot 79 in round one, 76 in round two and 75 in round three.
Mateo Verea rounded out Montevallo's scores with an 18-over 234 after shooting 74, 79 and 81.
