MONTEVALLO, Ala. – A pair of Falcons earned spots on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-South Region Team ahead of the 2026 season, as McGwire Turner and Evan Radford received the preseason honors.
Turner was selected at third base after also being named to the Gulf South Conference Top Returners List earlier this month. The junior put together a standout 2025 campaign, earning All-GSC Second Team honors along with NCBWA All-South Region First Team, D2CCA All-South Region First Team, and D2CCA Third Team All-American recognition. Turner batted .404 last season, leading the league with 86 hits to go along with nine doubles, eight home runs, and 47 RBI.
Radford earned preseason recognition at the utility spot following a strong 2025 season in the middle of the Falcon lineup. The Hoover, Ala. native posted a .343 batting average with 73 hits, a team-high 16 doubles, 16 home runs, and 56 RBI. Radford was also named to the 2026 GSC Top Returners List and collected several postseason accolades in 2025, including All-GSC Second Team, ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-South Region, NCBWA Second Team All-South Region, and D2CCA Second Team All-South Region honors.

The Falcons open the 2026 season on Friday with a 2:00 p.m. first pitch against Hillsdale at Kermit A. Johnson Field at Bob Riesener Stadium.
