BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Christian Bacher has been named the Gulf South Conference Men's Tennis Freshman of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

Bacher compiled a 3-1 overall record last week, including a perfect 3-0 mark in doubles play. Partnering with Leonidas Lazarides at the No. 2 position, the duo earned a 6-4 victory over Valdosta State's Wilson Igbinovia and Emile Delporte, followed by a 6-2 win against Mikayel Avanesyan and Charles Lefort of No. 17 Mississippi College.

In singles competition, Bacher secured a 7-6 (5), 6-3 win over Valdosta State's Igbinovia last Tuesday. On the season, the freshman holds a 2-3 record in singles play and leads the team with six doubles victories alongside Lazarides.

Bacher and the Falcons return to action on Tuesday, Mar. 31, when they travel to Livingston to face No. 31 West Alabama.
