MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo men's tennis team returns to action tomorrow afternoon as it travels to Livingston, Ala., to face No. 17 West Alabama. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Falcons are looking to bounce back after a loss to No. 47 Southern Arkansas last Monday. The doubles duo of Simon Luigs and Guilherme Gracioli remained in the latest ITA doubles rankings, checking in at No. 43. Christian Bacher was tabbed the league's Freshman of the Week after a 3-1 combined record against Valdosta State and No. 17 Mississippi College.
West Alabama enters the matchup with an 8-4 overall record and a 1-1 mark in Gulf South Conference play, holding the No. 17 national ranking. The Tigers are coming off a 6-1 victory over Southern Arkansas last Tuesday. Individually, Matias Iturbe is ranked No. 21 in singles, while Gabriel Garay comes in at No. 55. In doubles, the pair of Jacob Tapia and Federico Iturbe is ranked No. 30.
