MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's lacrosse is set for a trip to St. Augustine, Fla. to take on No. 18 Flagler College at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11.

The Falcons head into the weekend with a 6-7 overall record while adding a 2-0 mark in conference play after opening the season with a dominant 21-6 win over Emmanuel on Jan. 30. The Falcons then fell in back-to-back meetings at RV Embry-Riddle and No. 19 Saint Leo in early February before picking up a 12-8 win over No. 20 North Greenville on Feb. 14. Montevallo's home opener featured an 18-10 win over Mars Hill on Feb. 18 before the Falcons fell to RV Belmont Abbey, 8-7, on Feb. 21. The Falcons dropped a home meeting with No. 6 Anderson on Feb. 28 before topping Young Harris, 15-5, on March 7. Montevallo then fell to No. 4 Tampa on the road before dropping a meeting with Palm Beach Atlantic, 11-9, on March 15. Montevallo fell in a third-straight game to No. 7 Maryville, 9-8, on the road before ending the skid with a 22-2 win over Virginia State on March 28. Most recently, Montevallo picked up a 24-10 win over Alabama Huntsville on April 4 to mark Head Coach
Jason Lange's 100
th career win.
With two games left in the regular season, Montevallo has tallied an average of 13.31 goals per game while adding 7.92 assists for a total of 21.23 points per game. On the faceoff, Montevallo has posted a .542 win percentage while adding an average of 41.77 ground balls per game to rank fourth in the nation. Defensively, Montevallo ranks No. 2 in Div. II with an average of 17.00 saves per game while allowing just 11.08 goals per game and posting a .816 clearing percentage.
Matthew Boas leads the Falcons with a total of 58 points on the season with 37 goals and 21 assists while adding four man-up goals, 21 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Lucas Mullen ranks second on the team with 52 points on 30 goals and 22 assists while posting three game-winning goals, a pair of man-up goals and 18 ground balls.
Collin Schuster leads Montevallo defense with 25 caused turnovers while adding 25 ground balls to go along with a pair of assists.
Brandon Shaffner has posted a 127-for-196 faceoff mark for a .628 win percentage. In the net,
Alex Egorshin allows just 11.23 goals per game with a .622 save percentage on a total of 212 saves on the season.
Flagler enters Saturday's matchup with a 9-4 overall record and a 3-0 mark in conference play after falling to Embry-Riddle, 8-7, on Jan. 31. The Saints then picked up a 14-8 win over Lynn before falling to No. 2 Tampa, 8-7, on Feb. 14. Flagler then sparked a four-game win streak with a 10-7 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on Feb. 17 before topping Florida Southern, 11-8, on Feb. 21. FC added a 14-8 win over Emmanuel on Feb. 25 before topping Rollins, 14-13, in an overtime win on Feb. 27. The Saints dropped back-to-back ranked meetings with No. 18 Saint Leo, 17-7, on No. 19 Florida Tech, 9-8. The Saints returned to the win column with a 10-9 win over No. 10 Colorado Mesa on March 17 before opening conference play with a 14-5 win over UAH on March 21. FC then took a 12-7 win over Lander on March 28 before topping Virginia State 15-4 on the road on April 1.
Ahead of Flagler's final game of the regular season, the Saints average 17.62 points per game on an average of 11.00 goals and 6.62 assists while adding a .297 shot percentage. Flagler has posted a .409 faceoff win percentage while posting an average of 26.62 ground balls per game. Defensively, the Saints allow just 8.54 goals per game while averaging 11.23 caused turnovers to go along with a .888 clearing percentage.
Will Linko has tallied a team-high 24 goals on the season while adding seven assists for a total of 31 points while Trace McDonald leads the team in points with 50 on 18 goals and 32 assists. Ty Seckenbach leads Flagler's defender with 19 caused turnovers while adding a total of 23 ground balls on the season. Tag DeLuca highlights the faceoff corps with a 42for-88 mark for a .477 win percentage. In goal, Wade Lamon leads the team with an average of 8.37 goals allowed with a total of 65 saves for a .533 save percentage.
