Montevallo Hosts Lander in Regular Season Finale

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's lacrosse is set to host Lander on Saturday, April 18 for the final regular season game of the 2026 season and the 2026 Peach Belt Conference regular season title.

Montevallo heads into the weekend with a 7-7 overall record and a 3-0 mark in PBC action after posting a 21-6 win over Emmanuel to open the season on Jan. 30. The Falcons then fell in back-to-back meetings with RV Embry-Riddle and No. 19 Saint Leo before topping No. 20 North Greenville, 12-8, on Feb. 14. Montevallo's home opener featured an 18-10 win over Mars Hill on Feb. 18 before the Falcons fell in consecutive home games to RV Belmont Abbey and No. 6 Anderson to close the month of February. Montevallo went on the road for a loss at No. 4 Tampa before dropping a meeting with Palm Beach Atlantic, 11-9, on March 15. The Falcons closed a three-game road trip with a 9-8 loss at No. 7 Maryville on March 21. Montevallo opened PBC action with a 22-2 home win over Virginia State on March 28 before topping Alabama Huntsville, 24-10, on the road on April 4. Most recently, Montevallo took a 15-14 win over No. 18 Flagler on the road on April 11.
 
 The Falcons' attack averages 13.43 goals per game while adding a PBC-best 7.86 assists per game to lead the league with 21.29 points per game. Montevallo fires an average of 42.36 shots per game with 25.79 of those on goal while adding a .552 faceoff win percentage to lead the league with a total of 216 faceoff wins. Defensively, Montevallo allows 11.32 goals per game on a .597 save percentage while adding an average of 12.43 caused turnovers per game.
 
Matthew Boas leads the team with a total of 64 points on the season with 43 goals and 21 assists while adding five man-up goals to go along with 22 ground balls and six caused turnovers.  Lucas Mullen ranks second on the squad with 54 points on 32 goals and 22 assists while adding three game winning goals and a pair of man-up goals. Brandon Shaffner leads the squad with 76 ground balls while posting a .637 faceoff win percentage on a 135-for-212 mark. Collin Schuster leads the defense with a team-high 27 caused turnovers while posting 26 ground balls and a pair of assists. In goal, Alex Egorshin owns a .612 save percentage with a total of 226 saves while allowing just 11.45 goals per game.
 
Lander heads into the weekend with a 6-7 overall record and a 2-1 mark in conference action after posting a 13-11 win over Coker to open the season. The Bearcats added a 19-11 win over Lincoln Memorial on Feb. 14 before topping Emmanuel, 25-4, on the road on Feb. 18. Lander closed a three-game win streak with a 21-8 win over Young Harris on Feb. 20 before falling to No. 6 Anderson, 19-10, on Feb. 25. Lander then fell to Palm Beach Atlantic before dropping a neutral-site meeting with No. 20 Embry-Riddle, 15-12, on March 6. The Bearcats dropped a meeting with North Greenville on March 11 before falling to UIndy, 16-8, on March 14. The Bearcats closed the nonconference schedule with a 15-13 loss to Belmont Abbey in Greenwood, S.C. Lander opened conference play with a 24-1 win over Virginia State on March 21 before falling to No. 20 Flagler, 12-7, on the road on March 28. Most recently, Lander topped UAH, 17-7, on Saturday, April 11.
 
Lander leads the PBC with an average of 14.77 goals per game while posting an average of 6.31 assists per game for 21.08 points per game.  The Bearcats take an average of 46.00 shots per game to lead the conference while averaging a conference-high 27.46 shots on goal per game. The Bearcats have tallied 35.31 ground balls per game while posting a .539 faceoff win percentage. Defensively, Lander allows 11.69 goals per game with a .467 save percentage while posting an average of 9.08 caused turnovers per game.
 
Carson Skinner leads Lander with 38 points on 26 goals and 12 assists while posting 22 ground balls and four caused turnovers. Matt Duarte ranks second on the squad with 25 goals and 12 assists for 37 points while adding 21 ground balls and three caused turnovers. Breton Crewe has posted a .585 faceoff win percentage while adding 38 ground balls. Mitchell Festi highlights Lander's defense with 25 caused turnovers while adding 45 ground balls and two points on one goal and assist. In goal, Max Porterfield has posted a .465 save percentage with 101 saves on the season while allowing 12.19 goals per game.
