HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
Playing as the visiting team against McKendree, the Falcons jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. Kelsey Vining led off the inning with a single to left center before being plated on a Shelby Lopez double. Celestia Davila brought Lopez around to score before being brought in a couple batters later by Dylan Bailey.
The Bearcats were quick to cut into the Falcons lead, scoring on a 2 RBI double to cut the lead 3-2.
Montevallo's bats stayed hot as they scored another trio of runs in the second inning. With a runner on base, Lopez launched a two RBI home run to left field. Later in the inning Rachael Conley scored on a throwing error by the Bearcats to give the Falcons a 6-2 lead.
In the third inning the Falcons added to their lead scoring twice to pull ahead of McKendree 8-2. Again it was off the bat of Lopez that fueled the scoring for the Falcons. This time Lopez tripled into right center for two more RBI's.
McKendree scored in the third and fourth innings to cut the Falcons lead to 8-4.
The Falcons put three more runs on the board in the fifth inning to make the game 11-4. Higgerson, Lexus Wilson, and Vining all scored for Montevallo.
The Bearcats rallied to score three more runs, two in the fifth and one in the seventh, to finish the game with seven runs. The Falcons came away with their fourth win of the season with the 11-7 victory over the Bearcats.
Game 2
The Falcons started game two of the day slow and Tusculum took full advantage by jumping out to a 3-0 lead to start the first inning.
Montevallo got one run back in the bottom half of the inning off of a solo homerun from Celestia Davila to cut the Pioneers lead to 3-1.
The Falcon defense held the Pioneers scoreless until the fifth inning. During that time Montevallo put up four runs to take a 5-3 lead.
In the second inning the Falcons scored on a three RBI homerun to left center from Lady Sarah Federico and then then again in the third inning off of a RBI single by Kaytee Keefe.
Tusculum used the top of the fifth inning to tie the game at 5-5 with a pair of runs.
The Falcons were quick to take the lead back with a trio of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to lead 8-5. Federico hit a RBI double down the left field line and then a two RBI double to right center by Davila capped of the inning for the Falcons.
Montevallo put the game away in the sixth inning after scoring five runs to run rule the Pioneers and earn their second victory of the day, 13-5.
STAT OF THE DAY
Lopez went 4-for-5 and completed the cycle with a single, double, triple, and homerun against McKendree. She also recorded five RBI for the Falcons in their first game.
In game two Davila and Federico had five runs each. Davila went 5-for-5 while Federico was 2-for-3 from home plate.

The Falcons will next travel to Delta State on Wednesday Feb. 17th to face the Statesmen in Cleveland, Miss. This game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was moved due to weather. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm
