The Falcons' pitching staff struck out five batters and held the Statesman to only five hits.
Montevallo scored the game's only runs off of a Dylan Bailey single to centerfield that brought Rachael Conley and Kelsey Vining in to score as the Falcons took a 2-0 lead.
Jocelyn Rivera, Abbey Pratt, and Jostlyn Higgerson all saw time in the circle for the Falcons. Jostlyn Higgerson earned her fourth victory of the season and Jocelyn Rivera was credited with a save, her second of the season.

The Falcons cut into the lead in the fourth inning when they scored three runs to make the game 6-3. With runners on base a pair of throwing errors by the Statesman brought in Celestia Davila and Shelby Lopez as Vining made her way to second base. Two batters later Kelsey Vining scored to cut the Falcons deficit in half.
The Statesman added another run in the bottom of the fourth inning to go up 7-3.
Montevallo tried to rally late in the game but was only able to bring in one run in the sixth inning. The Statesman held off the Falcons to seal the 7-4 victory.
