HOW IT HAPPENED

Game 1

• The Tigers got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead over the Falcons early in the game.
• Montevallo tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth inning when Jostlyn Higgerson tripled to put the tying run in scoring position.  Higgerson was plated on an infield single from Kaitlynn Thomson.
• In the bottom of the fifth inning the Tigers scored three runs to take a 4-1 lead over the Falcons.
• The Falcons got a run back in the top of the sixth inning and cut the lead to 4-2 when Lady Sarah Federico doubled to score Darbi Duke.
• West Alabama put the game away with three more runs in the sixth to take a 7-2 lead over the Falcons.

Game 2

• The Falcons jumped on the board in the second inning with a two RBI single from Shelby Lopez that scored Duke and Celestia Davila to give Montevallo a 2-0 lead.
• The Tigers cut into the Falcons lead in the bottom half of the second inning with a run on an error that got West Alabama on the board.
• In the top of the third inning the Falcons added a trio of runs to jump out to a 5-1 lead.  The Falcons scored on a pair of errors by the Tigers and also on a single by Duke that plated Laura Van Steenwyk.
• The rest of the game turned into a pitcher's duel and the Falcons held on to claim the game two victory, 5-1.

UP NEXT

The Falcons take an extended road trip and travel to Puerto Rico to take on two opponents.  The first will be on March 26th when they take on the University of Puerto Rico Bayamon in a doubleheader scheduled to start at 10:00 am CST.
