HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- The Falcons got on the board first with a pair of runs in the third inning to take a 2-0 lead over the Mountain Lions. With Darbi Duke and Kaytee Keefe on base, Celestia Davila singled up the middle to bring home both runs.
- The lead was short lived as Young Harris tied the game up in the bottom of the frame with a pair of runs.
- In the bottom of the fourth inning the Mountain Lions brought in three runs in to take a 5-2 lead over the Falcons.
- Young Harris added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth and another in the bottom of the sixth to take a 7-2 lead.
Game 2
- The Falcons got behind early, giving up four runs in the second inning to trail the Mountain Lions 4-0 early on in the game.
- Montevallo got a run back in the top of the third inning when Darbi Duke hit a solo homerun to centerfield to cut into the Young Harris lead, 4-1.
- Young Harris added another four runs in the bottom of the third to increase their lead to 8-1.
- The Falcons came back and scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning. The first one came off of another solo homerun, this time from Racheal Conley. The second run of the inning came when Young Harris tried to pick off Higgerson as she tried to steal second and Kelsey Vining was able to score from third. The Falcons trailed Young Harris 8-3.
- The Falcons plated three more runs in the fifth inning to cut the lead down to two runs (8-6). Shelby Clark scored Davila on an RBI double to left field and then was plated by Marisa Sosa who had an RBI double into right center. Montevallo's final run of the inning came on a Kaitlynn Thomson single into center that scored Sosa.
- Young Harris added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull ahead 10-6.
STAT OF THE GAME
The Falcons hit two homeruns in game two of today's doubleheader. This is the fifth time this season that Montevallo has recorded multiple homeruns in a game this season.
