AUGUSTA, Ga. – Eight members of the University of Montevallo softball team have been named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team.

The Falcons' All-Academic team selections include seniors Sydney Abounassar, Jana Kelbie Armstrong, Jostlyn Higgerson, Shelby Lopez and Lexes Wilson, along with sophomores Dylan Bailey, Celestia Davila and Kelsey Vining.

Abounassar, a Yorba Linda, California native, owns a 3.43 cumulative grade-point average as a speech pathology major.

Armstrong, a native of Wilsonville, Alabama, carries a 3.97 cumulative grade-point average as an elementary education major.

Bailey, a Chula Vista, California, native, owns a 3.43 cumulative grade-point average as a kinesiology major.

Davila, a native of San Diego, California, carries a 3.93 cumulative grade-point average as a kinesiology major.

Higgerson, an Enterprise, Alabama native, carries a 3.93 cumulative grade-point average as a nutrition major.

Lopez, a native of Jemison, Alabama, owns a 3.48 cumulative grade-point average as a social work major.

Vining, a Plano, Texas native, owns a 3.51 cumulative grade-point average as a biology major.

Wilson, a native of Kirbyville, Texas, carries a 3.53 cumulative grade-point average as a psychology major.
