HOW IT HAPPENED

Montevallo fell to Delta State 14-1 in its first game on the final day of the Falcon Frenzy before wrapping up the event with a 10-4 win over West Alabama in its final game of the event.

The Falcons scored their only run in the opener on a fielder's choice by Kirbi Tuck, who pushed across Saralyn Campbell.

Montevallo opened up a 7-1  lead over West Alabama in the nightcap, with senior Kaytee Keefe and junior Dylan Bailey providing RBI doubles in the bottom of the third inning.

Bailey added a two-run double in the fourth and a RBI single by Kelsey Vining capped the scoring for the Falcons in the victory.

Senior Jocelyn Rivera recorded the complete-game victory.

STAT OF THE DAY

After recording just five hits against Delta State, the Falcons' offense exploded for 14 hits in the win over West Alabama.

The Falcons will travel to Nashville, Tennessee next weekend to take part in the Music City Invitational.
