HOW IT HAPPENED

Lee plated three runs in the bottom of the second inning on a fluke play where the ball originally hit the base runner standing on third base and bounced away, with all three runs scoring on the play to give the Flames a 3-0 lead.

The Flames added a home run in the bottom of the third inning and plated another run in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 5-0 lead.

Montevallo finally broke through with two runs in the top of the sixth inning to trim the Flames' lead to 5-2 when senior pinch runner Celestia Davila scored on a RBI single to center field by freshman Lauryn Garcia and sophomore Haley Barnette, who reached on a walk, scored on a RBI infield single by sophomore Holly LaForce.

The Falcons put runners at first base and third base in the top of the seventh inning following a walk issued to senior Darbi Duke and an error by the Flames, but managed to just get one of the runners across when Duke scored on a RBI sacrifice fly to left field by junior Lady Sarah Federico.

UP NEXT
