CARROLLTON, Ga. - The University of Montevallo
women's golf team finished third in team standings at the Louise Suggs
Invitational hosted by University of West Georgia.
The Falcons finished carded a 67-over par 931 in the three-round event with rounds of 304-311-316.
Senior Alexis Berger led the Falcons with a 12-over par 228, which placed her fifth overall in individual standings and earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team. Berger posted the lowest round by a Montevallo golfer in the event with her 2-over par 74 in the first round.
Sophomore Kayla Shelton also posted a top-10 finish after carding a 18-over par 234, which placed her in a tie for ninth overall in individual standings.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- All five Montevallo golfers scoring as a team carded a round under 80 in the opening round.
- The Falcons finished one spot behind West Georgia and two spots ahead of Shorter among Gulf South Conference teams in the field.
- Montevallo posted its best round in the opening round with a 16-over par 304.
- The pair of top-10 finishes by senior Alexis Berger and sophomore Kayla Shelton marked the first top-10 finish by a Montevallo golfer dating back to the North Georgia Invitational in October, where sophomore Alicia Easthope finished in a tie for eighth overall in individual standings.
