MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo sophomore
Georg Trompler has moved up in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II rankings latest polls.
Trompler, a native of Bavaria, Germany, is ranked No. 10 in the latest men's singles' rankings. Trompler is 14-6 on the season in singles' play, including a 7-3 mark in Gulf South Conference individual matches.
Trompler is also 10-5 in doubles' play when partnered with sophomore
Tanguy David, including 7-3 in Gulf South Conference matches.
Trompler's No.10 ranking is the highest ever for a Montevallo tennis student-athlete.
The doubles' pairing of sophomores
Maria Garcia and
Dorotea Hanzek are ranked No. 42 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II women's doubles' rankings.
Garcia, a native of Valencia, Spain, and Hanzek, a Bedekovcina, Croatia native, own a 10-7 overall record in doubles' play. The duo is 6-3 in Gulf South Conference doubles' matches.
Both men's and women's tennis teams will travel to Montgomery, Alabama, Thursday, May 2 for the Gulf South Conference Tournament. The women will take on the University of West Florida at 9 a.m. while the men will face Lee University at 1:30 p.m.
