MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's golf team wrapped up their first event of the spring schedule with a 13th place finish in the Lady Moc Classic.
The Falcons posted team scores of 324, 313, 316 for a three-day total of 953.
Freshman Bernardita Villalba led the way for the Falcons with a T-29 finish. Villalba fired rounds of 77, 76, 74 for a three-day tally of 227.
The Lady Moc Classic was pretty much a homecoming tournament for Junior
Kayla Shelton. The St. Petersburg, Florida native was right behind Villalba for the Falcons this week. Shelton had rounds of 77, 75, 78 for a three-day total of 230 and a 38th place finish.
Next up for the Falcons is Senior
Alexis Berger. Berger gave the Falcons rounds of 83, 78, 78 with a final three-day total of 239 and a T63 place finish.
Juniors
Emma Perier and
Alicia Easthope rounded out the top five for the Falcons at the Lady Moc Classic. Perier, out of Lyon, France shot rounds of 87, 84, 88 for the three-day total of 259 and an 86th place finish. Easthope, of St. Albert, Canada rounds of 88, 91, 86 for an 87th place finish with a three-day total of 265.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Villalba, the Freshman of Cordoba, Argentina led the way for the Falcons in Lakeland with a T29 finish. Villalba is coming off of a Freshman of the Month honor from the Gulf South Conference at the end of last semester.
- This was the Falcons first of five events on the spring schedule.
- The Falcons will return to action on March 2nd - 3rd at the Wingate University Low Country Invitational in Bluffton, South Carolina.
