CALERA, Ala. – Montevallo women's golf took home the event victory on after round three of the Montevallo Invitational with a third-round score of 16-over while Francesca De Roover took home the individual title in a playoff.
The Falcons' final round featured a combined score of 16-over par with the team tallying a total of seven birdies to tie Montevallo's round two score for the low team round of the event. UM's first victory of the season featured a total score of 53-over for the three rounds and cleared second-place Union by 15 strokes.
Francesca De Roover fired the low round of the day for Montevallo with an even-par 71 in the final 18 holes with a pair of birdies. The senior went on to face the top golfer from Union in a one-hole playoff where the Brussels, Belgium native won the tournament with a par on the 18
th. Tuesday marks the first individual victory for De Roover. Fabiola de Cespedes finished third for the tournament with a total score on 12-over with a round three 75 (+4) while
Juliette Daviau finished fifth with a total score of 18-over that saw a final round 77 (+6) from the sophomore.
Ainoa Ruiz rounded out the Falcons' scores with an eight-place score of 19-over with a round three 77 (+6) that saw a pair of birdies. Finally,
Polly McCrackin slipped to fifth in the standing with a round three 82 (+11).
