INDIANAPOLIS, Ind – The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced Tuesday that 4,016 student-athletes have earned GEICO Academic All-GLVC distinction for the 2019-20 season. The GEICO Academic All-GLVC honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who meet a cumulative GPA of 3.30 over two semesters of an academic year at the institution.
The University of Montevallo men's lacrosse team placed thirteen student athletes on the list for their hardwork in the classroom.
In addition to the GEICO Academic All-GLVC honors the conference has recognized 554 student-athletes who have earned the GLVC Brother James Gaffney, FSC Distinguished Scholar Award, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Of those receiving the honors were three of Montevallo men's lacrosse student athletes. Sophomore faceoff specialist
Brendan Miklos, sophomore midfielder
Jackson Neufeld, and junior midfielder
Kordell Primus were of those honored for their academic achievements off of the field by the GLVC.
This award is presented annually to student-athletes competing in GLVC-sponsored sports who achieve a 4.0 grade point average during the course of the academic year.
The name of the award is given after Brother James Gaffney FSC, the former President of Lewis University for over 28 years and two-term Chair of the GLVC Council of Presidents.
