MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Sophomore forward Edorta Cabieces Sanz has been named second team All-South Region by the United Soccer Coaches Association. The Bilbao, Spain native led the Falcons in scoring in 2021 with 14 points. He scored five goals and had four assists during UM's 13-3-2 season, leading the Falcons to a regular season Gulf South Conference championship and the top seed in the conference tournament. That was after being picked to finish 12th in the GSC preseason poll.

"Edorta had a great year on the field and I'm very happy for his recognition. He allowed us to do a lot with his hold up play and his ability to create. I'm excited to see what he can do in the future," said Montevallo men's soccer coach Bruce Dietterle.
