CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Falcons wrapped up another day competing at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference championships. Going into the day the women were holding 6th and were able to jump the University of Texas Permian Basin and take 5th heading into the last day. The women set one new school record.
The night started off with senior Hailey Vance taking eighth in the 500 free. In the morning she went out a 5:13.49 to place her in the A final.
Anisa Nelson and Shelby Narramore went 5:44.52 and 5:26.77 respectively in the 500, good enough to place them 13th and 15th.
Adding to her night, Hailey Vance took 11th with a 59.03 in the 100 back. Her teammate, Danielle Davis, swam a lifetime best 1:02.54 narrowly missing finals by .1 of a second.
Sophomores Molly Hansen and Katie Mailcoat swam well going 1:08.87 and 1:12.97 respectively and taking home 10th and 15th respectively. This marks a lifetime best for Mailcoat a significant drop from her previous best of
Amanda Ware took reset the school record of 2.12.72 set this morning by Mary Lane with a 2:12.32. Ware and Lane took seventh and eighth in the event, both posting lifetime bests.
The relay of Madison Burnum, Molly Hanson, Anisa Nelson, and Mary Lane swam a 8:29.17 in the 800 freestyle relay to take 5th in the event.
The Falcons were able to jump UTPB for fifth narrowly trailing Henderson by a small margin.
