"I'm stoked. I love it when the players that I feel represent the conference well or are elite players in the conference get the appropriate recognition. I'm really happy that other coaches see these guys the way I see them. They have had a tremendous season. A lot of them have been striving towards this for a lot of their entire college careers, said Head Coach Bruce Dietterle. "It's a validation of everything they put in, the blood sweat and tears, the cliché' of working day in and day out, the 6 a.m. weights, all that stuff to get where they want to be. It's also a good role model for the guys that are behind them after they graduate. That's the guy you want to look up to and how did he get to where he is. There are a lot of guys that didn't get the recognition that still put in the effort and are that great but you don't want to detract from the guys who actually got it, so I'm really happy for them to be validated. It's an individual success, which are nice, but I'm sure every single one of them would trade that individual award for a championship at the end of the season because that's the culture that we have here."

Hernandez is the only current Falcon to earn All-Conference honors twice as he was named to the All-GSC Second Team in 2021. This is the first All-Conference honor for Cabieces Sanz, Bou Dalmau, Wittmann and Chladek.

UM's five All-Conference honors in 2022 is the most since the 2012 season when five were named to the PBC All-Conference Team's.

Montevallo will open GSC Tournament play on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. against AUM. Tickets are on sale for $10 and $3 for students. UM students will receive free admission and are asked the enter the entrance near the intramural fields.
